About Ireland: For Ireland, there are many 'tags' that can easily sum up this wonderfulland,'tags' such as; “Emerald Isle” and “Land of the Scholars” are well known throughout the world. Howevermaybe a more fitting tag for this wonderful land could be the same tag thatwas more known in pubs and hotels in Ireland which is; “Arrive as a visitor, leave as a friend”.
If you are a previous visitor to Ireland you may have seen already that it has a very gentler way of living, their passion for music and the“Craic” (Lively conversation) are there for all to see. The cultural mix throughout Ireland is as fasinating as the scenery and some of the most amazing prehistoric remains in Europe can be found here.
If you have been to Ireland previously, you may well know that the old Celtic myths and legends still remain in some parts of the country where the St.Patrick's day parade is still celebrated not only throughout Ireland but most of the world as well.
Ireland is famous for many things, with scenery being one of those things, however it is also one of the world's leading venues for fishing and angling holidays, whilst also being home to some of the world's most beautiful and challenging golf courses.
Ireland currently has two languages, Officially the Republic's first language is Gaelic and approx 30% of the population can speak it, however in the Gaeltacht areas of the country (Irish speaking areas) there can be more than 60-70% of the population that can speak Gaelic there, which is mostly in the West and Southwest of the country.
The country of Ireland is relatively small and in comparison it would be roughly the same approx size as Virginia. Ireland is a country that is pretty easy to navigate around both inner city and county wise. The country has currently adopted the € Euro as it's currency, however other currencies maybe accepted depending upon location (Please check locally).
The country is well served by the bus and rail network and whilst the bus service (Bus Éireann) is relatively cheap, the rail service (Iarnrod Éireann) can be more expensive depending on where you are travelling to / from, as for the road network, this is well maintained and signposted well for the most part. If you are thinking of travelling around Ireland then a rental car is definatley the best way to do this. With many small towns hidden off the beaten track it is a great way to discover Ireland by car, by picking a location to visit you are sure to discover many little towns or villages on your way, and with a rental car you can easily stop off en-route and discover all the delights that this great country has to offer.

Ireland is served well by international and regional flights from most of the world and the airport locations are usually pretty close to their actual locations for example: Cork international airport is approx 5 miles outside of Cork city centre and the airport is well served by buses and has a good road link direct to the city and other locations.
