The location of Dun Laoghaire is probably best known as an entry point into Ireland via the sea port here with ferry crossings from the UK, however the town of Dun Laoghaire is alot more than that.

The town still retains alot of it's Victorian character and has two piers, each of which are more than a mile long. It is a major yachting location in Ireland and races are usually held here during the summer. A good place to visit if you want to know more about the history of the port would be the National Maritime Museum which is housed in the former Mariners church located on Haigh St.

If you go about 2 or so miles south of Dun Laoghaire to Sandycove, the James Joyce Martello Tower is located here and well worth a visit and photo opportunity. Ity must be said that the location of Dun Laoghaire is not really what you would call a tourist resort, however it is still worth visiting if you plan on staying or touring in or around Co.Dublin.
We would recommend approx: >> Half day stay.
